Show Me the Bunny!

Everyone was a winner.

To clear away the winter dreariness (which last well into spring here in Indiana and Oregon), we decided to hold a contest. Six winners would each receive a FREE Double Level Bunny Abode house rabbit condo delivered right to their door. We provided two coloring pages, but encouraged bunny lovers to think outside the box, and express their love for the long eared angels amongst us.

The results were amazing. Heart warming. Life affirming. I'm not kidding. Every day the mailman brought us more and more wonderful creations. Whether it was a two years old's scrawling or a hand made wall quilt, each entry was spectacular.

 

Choosing a winner was hard.

We admit that the criteria for winning are not logical or definable. We simply went with our gut. It was near impossible. Every entry was a winner. Which is why in addition to the six grand prizes, at the close of the contest we awarded all participants with a 20% off coupon to be used on their next order with Leith Petwerks Inc.

But choose winners we did:

Entries began pouring in quickly. We were overjoyed to see that many families were doing the project together. All mediums were seen, from pencil to chalk to oil paints to watercolor... and macaroni. Not together, thankfully.

As more entries came in, we saw the projects get bigger. This winner included colorings from Pop and the kids, while Mom made a little bound book detailing the story of their bunny and his need/desire for a condo!

We literally gasped in delight when we received this entry, a little quilted wall hanging. The colors pop. The bun is adorable. It's a wonderful illustration of the lively nature of the rabbit.

Many entries were photos. The best photo entry, however, was this photo book that told an adorable story of a girl and her beloved rabbit.

Even the coloring entries began to get more interesting. Here is a textural 3D rendition of our printed coloring pages!

Many people were talented and persistent, sending in multiple entries. This winner had a number of great submissions, but the hand-made pop-up book telling the tale of two bunnies in love who needed a proper home for their life together took the cake!
