It all began a long time ago on a small blue planet known as Earth…

Shortly after Amy and I got married in 1992, which seems oh so long ago [EDITOR'S NOTE: Hey! Watch it, buddy!], we became enchanted with an Easter left-over at a pet store. We took him home and life hasn’t been the same since. We hadn’t a clue what we were doing, but Dinkum, our Dutch-Harlequin mix, didn’t seem to mind. He showed us what he needed and wanted, and after a long learning curve involving countless hours with veterinarians, rescue groups,books, eventually the Internet, and other “bunny people,” the rest is history.

It is from those humble and sometimes frustrating beginnings that our lives changed forever and Leith Petwerks was born…all from a chance meeting in the pet store after Easter. Fast forward seventeen years and we are still learning from our lagomorph friends on a daily basis.

Dinkum is no longer with us having passed over the Rainbow Bridge quite a few years ago, but this time of year as Easter is past and our wedding anniversary is approaching along with Memorial Day, I am reminded of all our bunny friends that have personally touched our lives and taught us so very much. 

Every time a bunny passes over to the bridge is a tremendously emotional and sad time, yet years later we are able to look back with such fondness for these great friends and all that they have meant to us. As time passes, so too does the sadness. We still miss each and every bunny every single day, but I like the idea that we can also take Memorial Day to remember our fallen lagomorph comrades as well as the rest of our family and friends who have gone on to keep them company over the bridge.

Sorry to get so sappy, but I really miss them this time of year. Thank you Dinkum, Billy, Tater, Bob, Charmin, and all the others that came into our life and left such an indelible impression…you are all missed and appreciated every day.

I like lemons and I like lemonade so that’s a good thing.

Hmm…have you ever had one of THOSE days when things just didn’t work out as planned? Well, today is time to turn some lemons into lemonade…sweet, refreshing lemonade.

We had such a huge response to our Condo Liners when we unveiled them last fall that we had a hard time keeping up with demand. (Condo Liners are available for 36" wide condos and the standard 48" wide condos.) As a result we started looking for a manufacturer that could make more of them than we could do ourselves. We went through several development issues, including running out of stock (SORRY about that!), before our new ones arrived last week.

Well, they’re BACK and they’re GREAT and they’re PLENTIFUL….but…there is a small issue. The company that perforated the rolls for us wasn’t exact in their measurements. As a result, there are perforation lines where they shouldn’t be. This doesn’t effect the performance of the liners in any way, but “I” know that they’re not right. Shhh, just don’t tell the bunnies!

Well, Petwerks works REALLY hard to do the right thing environmentally, which meant we weren’t going to throw them out. What we CAN do is offer them to you at a ridiculously good price to move them out in a hurry so we can get a new batch in. 

As we are up to our necks in cardboard, we are offering the Condo Liners at 50% off as long as this batch lasts…and we have LOTS of them!

The other day, I made a teensy weensy typo. On my order form I accidentally added a zero to an order of Oxbow Papaya Tablets. This resulted in my receiving one THOUSAND bottles when I only meant to get a hundred…OOPS!
